The one-thumb arcade racer is quietly perfect for phones
Racing games used to demand a steering wheel's worth of inputs. On mobile, the smart ones strip it all back to a single interaction, and it turns out that's more fun than it has any right to be.
Neon Dash Circuit is our favourite recent example. You hold to drift, release to straighten, and that's the whole game. Mastery comes from timing, not from memorising a button layout, and you can play the entire thing with one thumb while standing on a train.
The trick these games pull off is making one input feel deep. Weight, grip and track knowledge all feed into that single drift, so there's a real skill ceiling hiding behind the simplicity.
If you've written off mobile racers as shallow, try a one-thumb one. The restriction is the point, and the best of them wring a surprising amount of joy out of it.
